21-11-2011  The APTI Championships were held yesterday in Coventry, we took a coach full of students and spectators with us. It was a great and we came away with 9 Golds, 4 Silvers and 6 Bronzes. Well done to everyone who competed you all gave 100% we couldn’t have asked for more, and thanks to all the spectators for cheering us on. The medal winners are:

02-11-2011 The APTI Championships are being held on 20th November, like last year we have arranged a coach to take our students upto Coventry. Please see the home page or Newsletter page for more details. The coach hold 53 people and places will be on a first come, first served basis, so let your instructor know as soon as possble if you are going.

02-11-2011 The Club grading was held on Sunday 29th October and the general standard was high. Well done to all that took part, and a big thank you to the senior grades for helping out.

16-10-2011 The 1st Isle of Wight Tae Kwon-Do Tournament was a great success, many thanks to all the helpers and of course to Mr Scotcher for organising the event. Also thank you to everyone that took part. The results are here, and a selection of photos are on the photo page (Student area).

31-08-2011 The Isle of Wight Taekwondo Chanmpionships will be held at West Bay Club (formerly The Savoy), Halletts Shute, Yarmouth PO41 0RJ on Sunday 16th October. Events will be point-stop sparring, continuous sparring and patterns. The price will be £8 for one event, or £15 for two or three. Spectator prices will be £2.00 per person and all spectator proceeds will be donated to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and to help a young A.P.T.I. Student in Northampton who has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. More details to follow.

28 -05-2011.  The next colour belt grading will be on Saturday 16th July at Swanmore Middle School.

After the success of the 1st squad training session we have booked the hall at Swanmore Middle School for the 5th June. The format will be the same as before, more details on the diary page.

There will be no training sessions at Wroxall Primary School on Monday 30th May or at Gurnard Village Hall on Thursday 2nd June, due to Mr Scotcher’s holiday, and we are unable to arrange alternative cover. Many apologies, all other classes are running as usual.

Unfortunately we have had to cancel the demonstration at Wootton on 16th July as it clashes with the grading.

06-04-2011. Due to maintenance work and the Island Games we are unable to use the hall at Medina on Wednesday 20th April or Wednesday 29th June. We have hired the hall at Swanmore Middle School, Bettesworth Road, Ryde (the same venue as the gradings) for these two dates and training will be at the usual time of 8.00-9.30pm. Apologies for any inconvenience.


20-03-2011. A small group of us went to the Tae Kwon Do World Championships at the weekend, and we came away with 2 Silver Medals - Peter Scotcher in Senoir Patterns and Vicki Salter in sparring and a Bronze, Sonya Allen in sparring. The competion was tough with some very good sparrers. The APTI Mens team came 2nd in Team Patterns, and the APTI ladies Team  came 3rd.
